Mel Munsen (EE.UU. 1946), born in San Diego, California, followed a BA in graphic design at Portland State University with six months of graduate work in glass blowing. Pursuing his love of glass, he spent a year pouring hot glass and then taught himself the process of fusing and slumping. Unlike his predecessors, Munsen’s innovative, technically ground-breaking work is completed entirely in the kiln. He lives and works in Victoria, and his work is in collections worldwide.
